Somewhere in the mountains lies a small village, where a poor widow lives from hand to mouth with her two daughters — her own and her stepdaughter. As usual, the widow spoils her own daughter and dislikes the stepchild. And things would have gone on like that, if the poor stepdaughter hadn’t accidentally dropped her spindle into the well. The angry stepmother ordered her to fetch it, and the unfortunate girl jumped into the well. That’s when the real wonders begin…
