In 1991, he graduated from the Directing Department of the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture (KhDAK), studying under V. Lukashov, with instructors Yu. Starchenko and N. Taramanova.
He is a theatre, film, and television director, as well as a writer and playwright.

A member of the International Association of Writers and Publicists, Oleksandr Drachov is well-known far beyond the borders of Ukraine.

Basing his productions on classical fairy tales and stories, the director creates vivid, colorful, and captivating performances. Thanks to his work, the repertoire of our theatre has been enriched with such productions as “The Incredible Adventures of Pippi Longstocking,” the oriental-themed fairy tale “Sinbad the Sailor and the Copper City,” the Christmas story “The Night Before Christmas,” and many others.
